Area: Los Angeles County, California Plaintiff Attorney: Defendant Attorney: Facts: According to Plaintiff: A women was injured in a trip and fall on stairs at a parking garage. The plaintiff was Tanya Manley. The defendants were Ampco Parking System and 611 West Sixth Street Association, LLC. On the afternoon of August 25, 200, plaintiff and her friend were on their way to the Los Angeles Library. Plaintiff entered Ampco Parking, located at 611 Sixth Street. On her way to the elevator, plaintiff began to descend the stairs, and her heel got caught on a piece of rubber material protruding from the nosing of a step. As a result, she lost her balance and was thrown forward. In an effort to break the fall, she put both of her hands on the ground at the landing, thus placing her entire body weight on her hands. As she landed on the ground, her glasses broke, causing a laceration in the left corner of her eye, which instantly started to bleed. She sustained bilateral injuries to her hands, knees, and ankles.
